Diaphragmatic Breathing


Diaphragmatic breathing creates that deep sedative effect we all crave through meditation, yet it is rarely correctly taught. If you have tried meditation before yet can't seem to relax, it's likely because you're not engaging proper diaphragmatic breathing which I believe is the most important aspect of meditation to master so that you can feel the relaxation you crave. Usually, as we rush through life, our breath becomes short, sharp and very restricted. We rarely take in the necessary breaths to oxygenate and refresh our bodies which causes stress, anxiety and panic in our body. By practising proper diaphragmatic breathing you will give your body the important message to relax and settle, rather than often being on the edge of anxiety and stress.  

Morning Meditation

This gentle meditation is designed to use every morning when you wake up or are on your morning commute to work.  Starting with extending the breath, the meditation guides you through a body scan for stress and tension,  invites you to cultivate loving-kindness for yourself, grounding yourself into your heart and body, getting clear on what you'll need to get through your day, and sending compassionate well wishes to yourself to get through the day. Lastly, you'll set intentions for the day to help you stay focused. May you know that you are loved, you are love, and that you are enough, always have been, and always will be.
 

I Love My Body

This short, yet heart-warming meditation invites you to take a mindful moment with me and practice body love and gratitude. You’ll be invited to make a commitment to speaking only with loving, supporting thoughts towards your body, and resisting the urge to place your value in this world on your physical body. This affirmation practice is inspiring, thoughtful and will allow you to hear what it sounds like to love your body and speak lovingly towards it. Moving forward, speak to your body with love, not criticism. 

Heart, Body & Mind

This short self-connection meditation will guide you to focus and explore your heart, mind, and body mindfully, without judgment or criticism. Use this meditation as a check-in, and to ground yourself in the present moment to reduce stress, improve your connection to yourself, and awareness of how you’re feeling today. It's always a good time to stop, reset and then move forward in a more grounded and aware way so that you can support and nurture yourself.
 

Drop The Anchor

This meditation is GOLD! It can be used at any time that you need to take a step away from the chaos of the day and ground yourself. You'll find your centre within the storm of our lives and bring yourself back into a state of calmness. Using visualisation of a boat and the sea, this practice shows us how our breath can be our anchor at any time we choose to use it. Always remember to take ten minutes to anchor yourself so that you can attack your day from a calmer and more productive place within yourself.  When you're overwhelmed, feeling frantic, lost, or stressed, this is the meditation for you. 

Cultivating Loving Kindness

You’re kind and polite and giving to everyone else. You work hard, you achieve your goals and you bear the brunt of the harshness of life in-between. Yet you may be so critical and so goal-oriented that you drag yourself along life chasing one goal after another, without stopping to be kind to yourself. I invite you to turn towards yourself and cultivate loving-kindness for yourself. This meditation helps you to stop and give back in a compassionate way. You’ll learn that, with the breath, you’ll always have a tool to bring self-compassion so that you feel supported and loved by yourself.
 

Self-Love

Deeply relaxing, this meditation guides you through a gentle journey to the centre of your heart, finding your infinite source of self-love and warmth. Keeping the inner critic at bay, you’re invited to you look at yourself with love, admiration, fondness, and warmth. You will connect with your unique self, back yourself fully, and commit to never abandoning yourself again. We’ll close this meditation with encouraging affirmations and a commitment to loving yourself compassionately. 

Letting Go

A lot is happening in the world and in our lives that we can't change which can be so unsettling for you. This meditation invites you to take some time out to stop, breathe, and let go. Release whatever you need right now, whether that's fear, rage, anxiety, confusion, heartbreak, or exhaustion. It doesn't matter what it is, you can work on letting it go through this meditation that will help you release your stress and set yourself free from unnecessary burdens. You can’t move forward towards your goals while holding onto the past. Use this to help propel you forward by taking time to let go and be present at the moment, even if you have to practice this a few times a day.
 

Cultivating Inner Strength

How do you get through tough times? How can you be resilient, show grit, and persist, despite the challenges? Even if you feel weak right now. This meditation helps you remember that you can get through your current challenges as you already have an abundance of inner strength. You are powerful beyond all measure, but when life gets hard it's difficult to believe this and hold the faith. This meditation will help you make an empowering shift in perspective, boost your confidence and strengthen your resilience and belief in yourself.
 

Accepting Uncertainty

How good are you at accepting uncertainty? We can't control our lives or our world, and we have been challenged deeply to surrender to the changes in our lives. This practice invites you to accept and surrender to everything you do not know about life, the world and our future, everything we can't control, and everything we can't change about ourselves. This can be used at any time you feel uncertain, unsure, and need to practice surrender in your life for greater calm and rest.
